Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Web Edition

Release 13.4.0

DateDecember 10, 2025
StatusGeneral

Overview

Tom Sawyer Perspectives 13.4.0 significantly enhances knowledge graph accessibility and developer efficiency. We are making complex data exploration intuitive for everyone by introducing Natural Language Queries, which translate conversational input directly into Cypher and Gremlin queries. Furthermore, our Pattern Matching Query Builder now supports RDF without the need to know the SPARQL query language.

The Perspectives 13.4.0 release improves application delivery and performance. We have upgraded our React, MUI Material UI, and MUI X software to deliver a next-generation, high-performance React UI that offers a 20–25% gain in rendering speed and responsiveness. Together, these architectural and deployment enhancements accelerate time-to-market while ensuring exceptional end-user experience.

The drawing view now includes in-place text editing capability for text fields in the Modern web client framework. Combined with precision layout improvements, this release produces even clearer and more insightful visualizations.

Perspectives has been upgraded to Spring Framework 6.2.12 and Spring Boot 3.5.6. Also, many third-party libraries have been updated to eliminate potential vulnerabilities. Perspectives now supports the OpenAI ChatGPT Atlas and Perplexity Comet AI browsers.

Fixes

Integrators

  • Fixed issue with detection of inherited attributes in schema extraction for Neo4j databases
  • Fixed support for HTTPS protocol for Neo4j databases

Views

  • Fixed cut-off and alignment issues in toolbar icons for the Classic web client framework
  • Fixed incorrect output when using 'Visible Window Only’ option in the Modern web client framework
  • Drawing
    • Fixed an issue to prevent edges from being attached too close to the corners of their incident nodes
    • Fixed node-node overlap in circular layout
    • Resolved issue with part of edge label appearing inside connector
    • Resolved issue with node overlap in incremental orthogonal layout
    • Resolved issue with intergraph edge labels overlapping arrowheads
    • Fixed consistency of scroll-wheel direction for zooming on Windows and Linux environments

Issues

  • The Modern web client framework does not support multiple toolbar and context menu operations of the same type if they have the same name, when added in the toolbar or context menu.
  • The Modern web client framework supports at most one invokable view dialog open at a time per application.
  • If you use custom containers for your views, the initial view visibility state should be set manually in your application’s code.
  • Export image to PDF and SVG are no longer supported in chart and timeline views in the Classic web framework.
  • You may see a warning of "Unknown Publisher" while using the uninstaller on Windows 11.
