Overview

Tom Sawyer Perspectives 13.7.0 introduces many data and layout improvements. This release adds rendering, editing, and filtering for more date formats and adds support for partial date formats such as yyyy and yyyy-MM. Perspectives now automatically sizes swimlane headers to fit longer text strings: this is especially important for digital engineering applications. This release also improves the layout of disconnected nodes to better utilize the aspect ratio of the drawing view and to have better spacing when placed near larger nodes. The setting to fix node sizes or to allow node growth is now available to be applied per node: this is especially useful for digital engineering applications which have a mix of nodes with and without many connectors. Bundle layout has many improvements including refined spacing of intergraph edges, improved placement of nodes and routing of edges in expanded drawings, and overlap free edge labels. The default setting of the link navigator has been improved so that it is easier to follow the animation in large drawings.

Perspectives has been upgraded to Spring Framework 7.0.8, Spring Boot 4.1.0, MUI Material UI 9, and MUI X 9. Additionally, many third-party libraries have been updated to address potential security vulnerabilities.

Issues

  • The Modern web client framework does not support multiple toolbar or context-menu operations that share the same type and name.
  • The Modern web client framework supports only one open invokable view dialog per application at a time.
  • If you use custom containers for your views, the initial view visibility state should be set manually in your application’s code.
  • You may see a warning of "Unknown Publisher" while using the uninstaller on Windows 11.
  • The Open REST View toolbar button in the Tom Sawyer Perspectives Web Previewer loads an incorrect URL. To view the REST API documentation, you can navigate to http://localhost:10650/13.7/webjars/swagger-ui/index.html instead.
